Strategy Committee

The Strategy Committee (SC), disbanded on 1/1/2012, provided the CEPOL
Governing Board with support, policy advice and the information necessary for the development and monitoring of strategies which ensured the delivery of the objectives laid down in
Council Decision 2005/681/JHA. The
External Relations Working Group (ERWG) was assigned to the Strategy Committee.
The tasks of the Strategy Committee included:
- Developing future concepts for CEPOL;
- Ensuring the coordination and cohesion of all CEPOL's operations;
- Coordinating cross-committee matters, particularly regarding budget and financial matters, the
Work Programme and the
Annual Report.
The Committee was chaired by a representative from the Member State holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Deputy Chair was the former Governing Board Chair. Other members included the incoming Chair of the Governing Board, the Chair and Deputy Chair of the former
Annual Programme Committee, the Chair and Deputy Chair of the now disbanded
Training and Research Committee, the Deputy Chair of the former
Budget and Administration Committee and the Chair of the
External Relations Working Group.
The members of the Strategy Committee met no more than four times a year.
