The course aims to refresh and deepen knowledge and understanding of methods to detect and dismantle laboratories among the participants. They will be able to work more independently in crime scene investigations related to dismantling illicit synthetic drug laboratories.

Participants will also be able to:

  • demonstrate a sound knowledge of methods, current trends and developments concerning production and trafficking of synthetic drugs and precursors
  • apply more independently all procedures concerning crime scene management of dismantling illicit drug laboratories (raid planning, execution, collection of evidence, dismantling, removal and storage etc.)
  • practise in a more advanced way the knowledge and expertise gained during the CEPOL 2-week training course 9/2015, by providing evidence of being prepared to work in these crime scene incidents in real life
  • recognise best practices and approaches to ensure safety and protection for law enforcement and forensic personnel entering the illicit drug laboratories

This course belongs to a series of training activities on dismantling illicit laboratories (step 1 is a webinar, step 2 is the ten-day course 9/2015 and step 3 is the three-day course 10/2015).

Target Audience: 

Law enforcement officers and forensic experts regularly dealing with synthetic drugs and having attended the CEPOL 2-week course on dismantling illicit laboratories in previous years (relevant security clearance is required).
