This activity will allow participants to share experience in counter terrorism and to develop new skills and techniques against future threats in this area.

Participants will also be able to:

  • recognise the different counter terrorism special techniques to control areas
  • compare different ways to integrate uniformed counter terrorist units and intelligence/information services
  • design training programs on counter terrorism for third countries
  • review different counter terrorism special techniques against future threats
  • define the application of article 36 of the SIS II Regulation on detecting and addressing suspicious travels
  • discuss how to tackle issues related to foreign fighters
Target Audience: 

Police officers or experts specifically involved in counter terrorism activities within their organisations (relevant security clearance is required).

CEPOL course 32-2015 “Counter-terrorism special techniques”

The German Police University organised from 15 to 17 July the CEPOL course 32-2015 “Counter-terrorism special techniques” in Münster, Germany. The aim of this course was to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between European police forces and to enhance their response to terrorist attacks. Participants and experts came from National Police Special Forces, EUROPOL, the FBI and the ATLAS network, among other organisations.
