Description: 

This course aims at fostering the network of future leaders in EU policing, encouraging a collaborative way of working across the EU law enforcement area, addressing future challenges and assessing training needs in relation to leadership development.

By the end of the Module 2 participants should be able to:

  • break down a new EU instrument into daily police practice and integrate EU police cooperation in the organisation's routine
  • understand how political events impact upon police work
  • discern how developments in business and the financial sector influence criminal opportunities (i.e. money transfer, parcel services)
  • address the impact of social exclusion and the unevenness of economic opportunity in policing (inside and outside the EU)
  • understand the effects of technology in policing
  • conduct a gap analysis and assess training needs
Target Audience: 

High potential law enforcement officials from EU Member States, Associated countries and JHA agencies with a leadership position in a policing area. The minimum required rank for participants is Superintendent/Lieutenant-Colonel (or the corresponding rank).
