88/2015 Disaster victim identification - practical pilot workshop

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to :

  1. Define the main duties and core tasks in disaster victim identification;
  2. Describe the investigative process in the scene, outside the scene and in the mortuary following an incident with fatalities;
  3. Integrate the team’s roles and responsibilities, including administration and national/international coordination of all personnel involved in the operation;
  4. Compile the necessary documentation;
  5. Apply the INTERPOL Identification Standards;
  6. Appraise the risks of misidentification;
  7. Manage the sensitive communication process towards relatives and friends.
Target Audience: 

Law enforcement personnel at practitioner level with either investigative or forensic background. They can already have some knowledge in dealing with human remains and the identification process.
