Synthetic drugs - no longer a phenomenon but a real danger for people living in the EU

Thirty participants from 20 EU Member States took part in the CEPOL course 09/2014 "Fighting drugs and strategic perspectives in synthetic drugs", held in Bratislava, Slovakia on 29 September – 3 October 2014. The course was organised by Slovakia with the support of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Europol.

The main aim of the course was to develop further cooperation in the effective fight against drugs and to show all participants the dangers of synthetic drugs and new psychoactive substances.

Forensic investigation of the crime scene

Thirty-six participants from 25 countries took part in the CEPOL Course 35/2014 - "Forensic investigation of the crime scene" was hosted in Zagreb on 23 - 26 September 2014. This was only the second activity organised by the Croatian CEPOL team.

The objective of the course was to increase awareness of modern forensic techniques, their delivery and impact on policing as well as developments and initiatives taken at European Union level to harmonise approaches. Participants will have an opportunity to share best practices and to expand their knowledge on the topics presented.

Organised by the Swedish National Police Academy, the CEPOL course on urban violence (CEPOL 59/2014) took place in Stockholm on 24th September 2014. 32 participants from 22 Member States attended the course.
