CEPOL course 61/2014 - Top Senior Police Officers: The Stockholm Programme Realisation (TOPSPOC) - Module 2

The second module of CEPOL course "Top Senior Police Officers: The Stockholm Programme Realisation (TOPSPOC)", was hosted by Italy from 12 - 16 May 2014. Thirty participants from 22 countries were welcomed by the directors of two Italian Police Colleges; Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia and Scuola Superiore di Polizia.

In line with the TOPSPOC methodologies the course included a significant amount of group work aimed at exploring the four subject areas:

Policing in Europe: preparing students for successful police cooperation

"Policing in Europe", launched in 2011, is a multi-module CEPOL activity and covers the legal and operational aspects of international police cooperation. This semi academic activity requires participants to pass three 3000 word assignments, written in English, on different topics related to international police cooperation.

CEPOL course 20/2014 - Theft of cultural heritage/artwork

On 7-11 April 2014 in Rome, 30 participants from 21 Member States, two Associated Countries, one Candidate Country and a representative from Europol took part in the course on protection of cultural heritage.

The course, organised by the Italian CEPOL Unit, the Department for Protection of Cultural Heritage (Carabinieri Corps), with support from Spain, The Netherlands and from UNODC, Unidroit, Interpol and ICOM, was hosted at the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia and opened by the Director of the School, Major General of Carabinieri Riccardo Amato.
