Col. Gerhard Haberler awarded Golden Honorary Badge of Slovene Police for cooperation

During an official event at the Slovene Police Academy, Mr Gerhard Haberler, from the Austrian Federal Police Academy, has been awarded the Golden Honorary Badge of the Slovene Police for cooperation.

During the handover ceremony, Mr Danijel Žibret, Assistant Director General of the Slovene Police, Mag. Ivo Holc, Director of Slovene Police Academy, and Mr Egidij Glavič, Head of the Slovene CEPOL National Unit, highlighted the cooperation and support of Mr Haberler as consortium leader, facilitator and trainer in the CEPOL 2 Step onsite course “Fundamental Rights – Police Ethics and Fundamental Rights – Management of Diversity” organised since 2016 on an annual basis in Austria and Slovenia. Moreover, they underlined the excellent cooperation between the Austrian and Slovene CEPOL National Units in the past years.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Haberler expressed his gratitude for receiving the award. In addition, he stressed that the fruitful cooperation established over the years based on professionalism has led to a long lasting friendship between all actors involved. This cooperation is based on mutual esteem, trust and shared common core values like democracy, the rule of law and a commitment to human rights-based policing. Finally, all actors agreed to further strengthen this fruitful cooperation.
