Fuelled by last year’s favourable response to the launch of self-paced online modules on personal business skills, the Agency is currently making new seats available for users interested in pursuing education with this new eLearning product in CEPOL’s Law Enforcement Education platform, LEEd.

Since the catalogue was launched in February 2021, more than 1,100 law enforcement officials have benefitted from this new eLearning product, while on average users enrol in four different modules to further advance their personal business leadership skills. “Introduction to Leadership”, “Complying with the GDPR” and “Excel 2019 for beginners” are so far the online modules generating the highest interest.

Registered LEEd users can choose from a catalogue of almost 500 online modules, with new additions published every three months. They are self-paced –which means they can be paused and restarted at any time, to better respond to individual needs. Study time is between 5 minutes and 6,5 hours, depending on the depth of knowledge provided in each learning resource.

This new online resource, available through CEPOL’s Learning Management System, LEEd, is provided by OpenSesame, a 3rd party service provider who jointly curates the eLearning materials with CEPOL training experts.

The professional catalogue includes nearly 500 training modules, grouped in five main categories:

1. Leadership: Modules focusing on basic leadership skills, such as: active listening, mentoring, strategic planning and change management, problem solving, conflict management and motivation. We also focus on developing innovation & creativity, process improvement, emotional intelligence and accountability. We added a few modules about negotiation, relationship building time and team management as well, to cover a wide area of business skills.

2. Communication: The eLearning modules in this topic have their main focus in developing the following skills: assertiveness, persuasion, presentation skills, business writing, email etiquette and effective meetings, so we can help our learners improve skills useful not only in their workplace, but also in their everyday life.

3. Diversity and Inclusion: Diversity & Inclusion is a category where we can find modules about understanding differences between people, to foster mutual understanding about cultural differences, gender identity, race or different types of bullying.

4. Computer and technology skills: In this topic, we included learning resources about software and tools used in an office environment (Microsoft Office package modules in different levels of understanding, Google products, etc.), as well as some courses about working remotely, cyber security and other digital tools.

5. Mental health: This category is made to help our learners with stress management, priority handling, work-life balance, resilience and growth mindset. We also included some modules about mindfulness, meditation, empathy and continuous learning.

CEPOL has doubled the number of LEEd users who can benefit from this catalogue of online modules -up to 2,000 in total. If you want to enrol, explore the catalogue or discover its benefits, please click here.
