Online Course 09/2020: Darkweb and Cryptocurrencies

The aim of this activity is to enhance knowledge about Darkweb and to increase basic investigative skills such as blockchain analysis, seizing cryptocurrencies and investigating darknet marketplaces. The aim is also to enhance cross-border investigations and cooperation regarding Darkweb and cryptocurrencies cases.

The learning process highlights a learner-centred approach and will accommodate interactive, participatory, practical and experiential orientated principles. The activity involves didactic learning through lectures and presentations by subject matter experts.

Webinar Ad Hoc 13/2020: Investigative Cryptocurrency Analytics with GraphSense

This webinar will introduce police investigators to the concept of “cryptoassets” and the anatomy of a cryptocurrency transaction. It will further look at the clustering heuristics and attribution as the approaches to transaction analysis and, finally, demonstrate the use of the open-source cryptocurrency analytics platform GraphSense in investigations.


25/2019 Darkweb and cryptocurrencies – illegal use

The aim of the course is:

  • To increase skills on how to look for virtual currencies (VC) in criminal investigation and how to identify the existence of a VC wallet, notably in the framework of searches.
  • To build capacity to identify the use of virtual currencies in criminal cases, use available tools and techniques to extract intelligence from virtual currencies transactions and seize and confiscate virtual currencies.
