One of the most complicated and multifaceted problems modern societies are called upon to respond to is the spread and use of narcotic substances. This global phenomenon threatens the health of human beings and social stability. It leads to death, disease, crime and corruption.
It encompasses three aspects: production, trading and use; and its expansion is a threat to the cohesion and prospects of our society, since destructive consequences and accompanying risks are linked to the most sensitive and more promising part of our population, our youth.
Mutual information, coordinated actions and international relations are integral constituent parts of a successful response to this dangerous and complicated phenomenon.
Law enforcement authorities are the expression of society’s response, in the effort to break the chain between producers, traders of death, and current and future users.
