The aim of this activity is to enhance knowledge about Darkweb and to increase basic investigative skills such as blockchain analysis, seizing cryptocurrencies and investigating darknet marketplaces. The aim is also to enhance cross-border investigations and cooperation regarding Darkweb and cryptocurrencies cases.

The learning process highlights a learner-centred approach and will accommodate interactive, participatory, practical and experiential orientated principles. The activity involves didactic learning through lectures and presentations by subject matter experts.

The course will be held entirely in English, therefore it is essential that nominated officials possess appropriate language skills. The entire activity is carried out online hence the physical presence of participants will not be required. The course is accessible through CEPOL's e-learning platform LEEd (after approved registration).

Objectives of the webinar:

  • Provide information on the EU response to organised migrant smuggling with an emphasis on the geo-political context that led to the establishment of Joint Operational Team (JOT) MARE;
  • Describe the characteristics, objectives and tasks of JOT MARE;
  • Explain the main features of organised migrant smuggling across sea smuggling routes;
  • Explain the importance and benefit of law enforcement cooperation in tackling organised migrant smuggling.

The objectives of the webinar is to better understand the gender dimension of the trafficking in human beings and how to implement gender sensitive measures from the identification to the protection of women and girls victims of Trafficking in Human Beings (THB).
