The course aims to enable participants to achieve a Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR) to the level of B1 - independent user, in Police English Language.

The specific objectives for participants of this course are:

  1. To have the ability, in accordance with CEFR, to express themselves briefly in familiar situations and to deal in a general way with non-routine information in writing, in speaking, in reading and in listening;
  2. To enrich their Police English Language vocabulary and use it appropriately in situations where police specific terminology is required;
  3. To practice cooperation on a European level, which they can later on utilise in cross-border communication.

The course is scheduled to take place in the period of 2 May – 24 June 2022.

The curriculum content will focus on online self-paced, as well as, trainer guided activities and related assignments in the following subject knowledge areas:

  • English Police Station, Equipment and Officers
  • Money laundering
  • Cybercrime
  • Europol
  • Schengen
  • Counterterrorism
  • EU Policy Cycle
  • Joint Investigation Teams
  • Immigration

Reading, speaking, writing and listening skills will be practiced in the context of the abovementioned topics.

The content of the course will be presented in CEPOL's virtual learning environment where participants will engage in activities extending and practising their Police English language skills.

Participants are expected to study around 12-15 hours per week in order to be able to achieve the aim. This course is fully flexible in terms of the study hours, learners can progress along the weekly activities at their own pace, however some real time sessions with the trainers are planned to take place.

Selected participants have to be registered to CEPOL's online Law Enforcement Education platform LEEd where the online activity will take the place.

The activity aims to enhance the fight against online child sexual exploitation by creating and/or improving skills to operate undercover on the internet ( DarkWeb and ClearWeb) in order to and by improving the international cooperation regarding the identification of such crimes and the production and dissemination of child abuse material on the internet, also by organised crime groups.

16 May 2022 to 20 May 2022

The activity aims to enhance the fight against counterfeiting and piracy by developing law enforcement’s capacity to recognise European criminal patterns on counterfeiting, to share good practices on inter-agency and public-private cooperation and to identify the best investigative and administrative counter-measures, with a focus on counterfeiting in general and on the way to combat the illicit traffic of counterfeit goods on the internet and to proceed with financial investigative/asset recovery measures following successful investigation of counterfeiting cases.

17 May 2022 to 19 May 2022

The aim of this e-Workshop is to improve performance of law enforcement officials by sharing best practices, methods, and tools for investigating and taking coordinating actions with the private sector to fight different kind of e-commerce fraud modi operandi.

The e-Workshop is a new type of interactive online product that is designed for experienced law enforcement officers. The key to success is active participation of small group of participants. Each e-workshop will have maximum 10 participants and will consists of daily live session (3 days x 3 hours).

The e-Workshops will be held entirely in English, therefore it is essential that participants possess appropriate language skills, minimum level B2. The entire activity is carried out online.


Participation at this e-Workshop require nomination by a CEPOL National Unit. Deadline for nominations: 2 May 2022

The aim of this webinar is to improve the fight against document fraud and migrant smuggling by enhancing the capacity of investigators to deal with different modus operandi and to cooperate at international and inter-institutional levels.

By the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • List the key information about the organisation of the illegal print shops, modus operandi and most forged / counterfeit documents;
  • Summarise the most relevant cases linked to investigation of migrant smuggling on the Eastern Mediterranean Migratory Route;
  • Describe the transnational cooperation and the key investigative methods through cooperation.

The activity aims to enhance the fight against the threat of CBRN devices and explosives by facilitating the sharing of information and the building of trust and by contributing to the identification of best practices and up-to -date knowledge on these domains; by creating awareness among senior law enforcement officials in the area of counter-terrorism in order to generate and improve possible operations to support the fully implementation of the Regulation EU 98/2013 on the marketing and use of explosives precursors.
