30/2016 Foreign fighters

This activity aims to discuss a common approach to address the phenomenon of foreign fighters. Participants will learn how Internet is used to recruit fighters and the routes taken by terrorists to and from war zones. They will also be able to identify opportunities for cooperation with police and judicial authorities in the Member States and the applicable penalties for returnees.

Webinar Ad Hoc "Activities of RAN POL - radicalisation and immigration flows"

The aim of this webinar is to train law enforcement officers to:

  • gain an understanding of the radicalisation process;
  • gain an understanding of the RAN Centre of Excellence network and the activities of RAN POL for 2016 and 2017;
  • detect early signs of weaknesses and potential radicalisation of immigrant/refugees in hotspots;
  • give them practical tips on how to deal with individuals on the spot (first contact).

34/2016 ATLAS network - Special Intervention Units

This seminar will allow participants to prepare for a joint and coordinated response in the event of an emerging terrorist incident. They will gain understanding of command and control challenges in these events, and on best practices and procedures followed by ATLAS Special Intervention Units (SIU) in relation to hostage release operations.
