The overall objective of this online training event is to enhance knowledge on the crime of forest and waste fires and in particular on the relevant emergency response, intelligence and investigative measures that are applied by the Member States` competent authorities.
In the first part of the webinar a Portuguese and an Italian officer will reflect on recent forest fire cases and showcase their national environmental crime protection, emergency response and investigative mechanism. In the second part of the webinar Italian investigators will exhibit organised crime groups engagement in waste fires with particular attention on typical crime patterns, and the intelligence collection and investigation methods adopted by Italian specialised agencies. Contributing experts are operational officers involved in daily investigative work and will share their expertise via the presentation of the latest case examples.
