COVID-19 Webinar: Counterfeit and sub-standard goods and intellectual property crime during the COVID-19 pandemic

The overall objective of the webinar is to enhance knowledge on the new criminal trends monitored by Europol during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic since the beginning of the current crisis. The trainer will also describe how Europol can support cross-border cases of IP crime in general and in particular the operational analysis support.

Cross matching in Europol datasets, analysis of suspicious transactions, organisation of cross-border operations, utilisation of innovative technological solutions like Universal Forensic Extraction Device and Europol Mobile Office will be discussed in this presentation offering a close insight into the daily realities of the agency responsible to support EU law enforcement cooperation.

Target Audience: 

Law enforcement officers (better from IPR Units) detecting and investigating IPR crimes such as sale of counterfeit medical devices (especially face masks, diagnostic self-tests, disposable latex

gloves etc.), sanitizers and disinfectants (alcohol based gels, soaps, disinfectant cleaning wipes etc.) and medicines (antivirals, medications for arthritis and malaria, herbal and healing

medicaments etc.). Police, customs and judiciary officers are all welcome.
