CEPOL course on trends and technologies in detecting false documents

Training law enforcement officers in detecting false documents is key to tackle terrorism, which is currently one of the main threats to the security of the European Union and its citizens.

This was the topic of the CEPOL course 87/2015 “Detecting false documents - new trends and technologies”, organised by Italy from 15 to 17 December 2015. 36 participants from 19 EU Member States and EUROPOL attended this activity. The course took place at the premises of the Scuola Superiore della Polizia di Stato in Rome, Italy.

The course programme combined theory and practice, and allowed participants to share work experiences in real situations in this field.

Trainers from France, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Frontex and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) provided students with expertise in the area of detection of false documents. Participants acknowledged their contribution and remarked the opportunity for professional enrichment that this course offered.
