CEPOL seminar 67/2009 English Seminar for English Language Trainers, attracted 17 participants from 12 Member States.
The aim of the seminar was to allow English Language Trainers to exchange experiences from applying the Common European Framework for Languages, Content Language Integrated Learning and inter-disciplinary teaching of police officers.
The seminar was hosted by the National Policing Improvement Agency at their site in Harrogate, United Kingdom on 21-25 September 2009, organised by the Danish National Police College and supported by the Lithuanian Police Training Centre and an external expert, also from Lithuania.
Prior to the course, participants worked with questionnaires and, based on these, the trainers and experts presented a survey on police English Training in Member States.
During ‘open space’ sessions, participants exchanged training materials and were introduced to the CEPOL e-Learning module on police English currently under development.
The recently launched Learning Management System (LMS) on the CEPOL’s e-Net was also presented and will be utilised for facilitating knowledge sharing, networking and post-seminar activities. All the presentations made during the five-day seminar will be added.
