Council of Ministers votes to change the seat of CEPOL

On 6 May 2014, the Council of Ministers voted in favour for the change of CEPOL’s seat from Bramshill to Budapest. The European Parliament, on 16 April 2014, had previously voted in favour of this amendment to Decision 2005/681/JHA establishing the European Police College (CEPOL). Planning for the relocation is already underway, which will take place once all conditions have been met.

The European Parliament has today voted in favour of the draft regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Decision 2005/681/JHA establishing the European Police College (CEPOL) changing the seat of CEPOL to Budapest, subject to the co-decision of the European Council.
