CEPOL, in line with Article 34 of the Regulation (EU) 2015/2219 of the European Parliament and of the Council, may establish and maintain cooperative relations with Union bodies, in accordance with their objectives, with authorities and training institutes of third countries, with international organisations and with private parties. One of CEPOL’s tasks is to develop and to provide training for law enforcement officials from third countries, in particular from countries that are candidates for accession to the Union and the countries under the European Neighbourhood Policy. CEPOL is also entitled to manage dedicated Union External Assistance funds to assist third countries in building their capacity in relevant law enforcement policy areas, in line with the established priorities of the Union.The table below illustrates the status of CEPOL’s formal and informal cooperation with external partners.”
