Equal opportunities

CEPOL applies an equal opportunities policy and accepts applications without distinction on grounds of age, race, political, philosophical or religious conviction, sex or sexual orientation and regardless of disabilities, marital status or family situation.

Recruitment process

  • All vacancies for staff members are advertised on CEPOL’s website and also on the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) website
  • Vacancy notices contain all the necessary information on the post, the eligibility criteria and the selection procedure
  • All applications are screened to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria specified in the vacancy notice
  • All eligible applications are evaluated by a selection panel against the selection criteria defined in the vacancy notice
  • The best-qualified candidates, who obtain the highest number of points within the evaluation, are invited to an interview
  • Interviews are carried out at the agency in front of a selection panel and may also include a written assessment
  • As a result of the interviews, the selection panel will establish a reserve list and recommend the most suitable candidate for the post in question
  • Based on the recommendation of the selection panel, the Director of CEPOL makes a decision on the appointment of the successful candidate
  • Reserve lists may be valid for up to 18 months. Inclusion on a reserve list does not guarantee an offer of employment

All staff members are expected to conduct themselves according to CEPOL’s code of conduct. CEPOL also fully supports the Public service principles for EU civil servants issued by the European Ombudsman, a publication that you can download in your preferred language from the table below:
