CEPOL recruits Temporary Agents and Contract Agents who are selected through open recruitment procedures.
Staff members are engaged on fixed term contracts, usually for a period of five years. Contracts may be renewed for a further period of up to five years. Any further renewal is indefinite.
Staff members are engaged to work at the agency premises, currently located in Budapest, Hungary.
Further rules applicable to staff members are set out in the Staff Regulations of Officials and Conditions of Employment of Other Servants of the European Communities (CEOS).
CEPOL also engages Seconded National Experts (SNEs) - through call for interest sent to National authorities - and offers traineeships.
CEPOL occasionally engages temporary staff to cover short-term vacancies. The current service provider is Jobsgarden.
CEPOL does not accept spontaneous applications and does not keep such applications. Only applications for Temporary and Contract agent vacancies published on CEPOL website and submitted through the online recruitment system can be considered.
CEPOL applies an equal opportunities policy and accepts applications without distinction on grounds of age, race, political, philosophical or religious conviction, sex or sexual orientation and regardless of disabilities, marital status or family situation.
The Code of good administrative behaviour contains the basic principles directing the relations of the staff of the Agency with the public.
The Code is inspired by the public service principles for EU civil servants as distilled by the European Ombudsman.
