The aim of this webinar is to familiarise first contact officials and law enforcement bodies with the procedural aspects, as well as their tasks and duties in relation to the identification of potential applicants for international protection, and the lodging of an asylum application.
By the end of this webinar, the audience will be able to:
- Understand the importance of the right to asylum and the principle of non-refoulement;
- Describe the notion of international protection deriving from the EU acquis;
- Explain the main stages of the asylum process and define your role within this process;
- Explain the notion of vulnerability and recognize indicators
- Understand the minimum procedural guarantees for vulnerable applicants, in particular at the initial stage of the asylum procedure
- Communicate effectively with applicants for international protection, and, in particular, with persons with special needs
