CEPOL cooperates since 2020 with the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) within the frame of a joint exchange programme addressed to prosecutors, investigative judges and law enforcement officials involved in cross-border cases.
The CEPOL-EJTN initiative is a hands-on training programme enabling the EU judiciary and law enforcement to exchange about each other’s practices on the field.
The purpose of this joint exchange programme with the EJTN is to:
- Help improve the coordination and communication between law enforcement officials and members of the judiciary;
- Enhance the cooperation between law enforcement officials and judiciary members within the EU.
This specific programme encompasses exchange opportunities for law enforcement officials from EU Member States (Denmark as self-payer), Western Balkan countries and Türkiye, as well as EU associated countries (as self-payers). It offers them the opportunity to visit each other in their respective law enforcement institutions, courts and prosecution offices to share and compare experiences, working methods and investigation techniques in the areas of economic and financial crime, cyber-crime, drug trafficking, trafficking in human beings, environmental crime, corruption and Joint Investigation Teams (JITs).
