CKC Interoperability
CEPOL Knowledge Centre on law enforcement cooperation, information exchange and interoperability

Efficient management of Europe’s internal security, including the EU’s external borders, relies upon law enforcement cooperation and interoperable large, centralised information systems that enable the sharing of information and the exchange of data between EU Member States.
With this goal in mind, CEPOL works to raise awareness and strengthen the knowledge of law enforcement officials on EU information sharing systems for security and border management, cooperation tools and other support mechanisms available to Member States.
Our Knowledge Centre on law enforcement cooperation, information exchange and interoperability brings together experts from Member States and relevant EU bodies to design CEPOL’s training portfolio in this specific area. This includes the curriculum for each learning activity, the learning outcomes, a description of the target groups as well as the profile of the trainers delivering the activities. The CEPOL Knowledge Centre (CKC) also provides advice on scientific research outcomes and particular methodological approaches for each training activity. The training portfolio is multiannual and is revised on an annual basis to respond to emerging threats and new developments at strategic and operational level and to accommodate evolving training needs.
The digital transformation of the EU justice and home affairs domain will continue in the coming years with the application of new large-scale IT systems and the implementation of the interoperability framework.
