CKC Counter-terrorism

CEPOL Knowledge Centre on counter-terrorism

CKC counter-terrorism

Terrorism persists as a threat to internal security. Fighting terrorism is a top priority for the EU. CEPOL contributes to the prevention of terrorist attacks and the protection of citizens by enhancing cooperation among Member States through specialised training.

CEPOL offers a learning portfolio aiming at preventing radicalisation, enhancing information exchange, cutting off terrorist financing and addressing the phenomenon of foreign terrorist fighters.

CEPOL Knowledge Centre (CKC) on counter-terrorism brings together experts from Member States and relevant EU bodies to design this specific area of CEPOL’s training portfolio. This includes the curriculum for each learning activity, the learning outcomes, a description of the target groups as well as the profile of the trainers delivering the activities. The CKC also provides advice on scientific research outcomes and particular methodological approaches for each training activity. The training portfolio covers multiple years and is revised on an annual basis to respond to emerging threats and new developments at strategic and operational level and to accommodate evolving training needs.
