Online course 2/2018: Excise fraud

The course is designed on the online platform of CEPOL. The physical presence of participants will not be required, trainers will facilitate the course, give instructions and provide feedback online.

The overall objective of the online training activity is to enhance knowledge on the application of criminal intelligence analysis and financial investigative techniques in combating excise fraud.

The activity will focus on good practices of excise related criminal intelligence analysis and the integration of financial investigations into excise cases. A separate module will concentrate on the added value of EU cooperation instruments (Europol, OLAF). Besides that the fraudulent exploitation of external community transit procedure (“T1 fraud”) and border control practices will also be debated. The progress of learners will be monitored and regular feedback will be provided. Those learners who meet the certification criteria will have access to their electronic certificates.

Target Audience: 

The online course offers free seats for the representatives of the member states and course is also open and free for participants from partner, potential candidates and candidate countries. Law enforcement officers investigating tobacco, mineral oil or alcohol fraud. Custom officers are particularly encouraged to apply.
