Bulgaria starts delivering training on its National LEEd Platform

Bulgaria multitanency

The Academy of the Bulgarian Ministry of InteriorArrow icon started operating a National LEEd platform, a virtual learning space within CEPOL’s multi-tenant learning management system intended to respond to the specific training delivery needs of the agency’s main partner in the Republic of Bulgaria. This virtual learning space will enable law enforcement officials in the country to participate in distance-learning programmes.

The first-ever online course delivered on the platform has been successfully completed with 22 participants from different Bulgarian law enforcement authorities. The 4-week activity focused on the fight against organised crime. The learning materials were prepared with the support of the Bulgarian General Directorate for Combating Organized CrimeArrow icon. The training course is envisaged to take place on a yearly basis.

On this important occasion, Senior Commissioner, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Vidolov, Rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Interior and CEPOL Management Board voting member, stated:

We strongly believe that learning is a lifelong process. The sharing of good practices, experiences and ideas is the driving force for law enforcement development and success. This highly valued cooperation with CEPOL gives us a strong motivation to build upon what has been achieved and keep implementing the best possible practices in law enforcement education and training.

This new development in LEEd marks another important milestone for CEPOL. Our aim is to assist our partners in the EU Member States in their efforts to provide high quality training opportunities for their law enforcement personnel. We wish our Bulgarian colleagues every success in their online training activities via the LEEd platform and we are ready to support them in their future endeavours,

noted the Executive Director of CEPOL, Montserrat Marín Lopez.

CEPOL’s multi-tenant platform has been designed to provide a robust level of resiliency, scalability and redundancy. The enhancement of the multitenancy component in CEPOL’s Law Enforcement Education platform (LEEd)  has no impact on the experience of already registered users – one of the particularities of this type of IT system architecture is that users only see the learning content made available to them by their own law enforcement academies or organisations.

Bulgaria is the second EU Member State, after Slovakia, to operate its own virtual learning space within the agency’s multi-tenant platform.
