CEPOL Management Board: new Chair and Deputy Chair appointed

A new Chair and Deputy Chair of the CEPOL Management Board were elected during an extraordinary online CEPOL Management Board Meeting held on 29 January 2026.

In accordance with the Rules of Procedure, and following the resignation of the former Chair on 23 November 2025, the Management Board was required to elect both a new Chair and a Deputy Chair from among members representing the Trio Presidency.

Ms. Irmina GOŁĘBIEWSKA, col. PhD, Deputy Director of the Bureau of International Police Cooperation, and former MB Deputy Chair, was elected as new Chair. Mr. Andreas ANGELIDES, Chief Superintendent, Director of the Cyprus Police Academy, and MB voting member for Cyprus, became the new Deputy Chair. The mandate of both positions will run until the end of June 2026 and took effect immediately upon election. 

The next CEPOL Management Board meeting is planned to be held on 21 and 22 May   2026 in Ayia Napa (Cyprus).


About CEPOL Management Board

The CEPOL Management Board is made up of representatives from EU Member States and the EU Commission. The Chair of the Management Board is a representative of one of the three Member States that have jointly prepared the Council of the European Union’s 18-month programme. The Management Board meets at least twice per year, in order to discuss current and future developments and assess the overall performance of the Agency. The Management Board meeting is an official event of the rotating EU Presidency.
