Partners NewsKEMEA organised the CEPOL Train-the-Trainers Step 2 course in Thessaloniki
The Center of Security Studies (KEMEA)
, a CEPOL Framework Partner since 2016, organised the second Step of the Train-the-Trainers CEPOL onsite training activity (65/2023/ONS) in Thessaloniki, Greece. A consortium composed of KEMEA, the Austrian Federal Police Academy and the Portuguese Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security (ISCPSI) implemented the activity from 2-6 October 2023. The training was part of a four-module course, individually held online and onsite, where onsite activities are carried out by ISCPSI (Step 1) and KEMEA (Step 2) respectively.
The “Train-the-Trainers” is a flagship CEPOL course fulfilling one of its core objectives; to train trainers and assist in improving and exchanging best learning practices. This course enhanced the knowledge and skills of 24 law enforcement officers and experts from various EU Member States, so that they can design and deliver training content with a learner-centred approach by applying modern delivery methods and tools, as well as blended learning techniques in a multicultural learning environment. In addition, participants learned to competently assess, when acting as CEPOL trainers themselves, if the learners, after completing a training activity or session, have reached the specified learning outcomes, to contribute to the overall CEPOL quality training standards.

The Center for Security Studies (Kentro Meleton Asfaleias – KEMEA), founded in 2005, is a scientific, consulting and research organization overseen by the Minister of Citizen Protection, governed by common law, and annually audited by chartered accountants. Its principal purpose is to conduct theoretical and applied research and studies, particularly at the strategic level, on security topics and policies, while being the think-tank of the Ministry of Citizen Protection on numerous policies such as public order, correctional services, terrorism prevention, crime prevention, integrated border management and civil protection as well as on various other security and societal issues; it also provides advisory and consulting risk-management services to an array of public and private organizations.
