3038/2024/WEB 'Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)’

The aim of this webinar is to improve law enforcement capabilities for the effective protection of public places by applying Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) methodology, to prevent and mitigate the effects of terrorist / extremist attacks in public spaces.
By the end of this webinar, the audience will be able to:
- interpret the basic principles of spatial criminology;
- describe the CPTED concept, advantages and challenges to terrorism prevention;
- conduct (quick) risk and vulnerability assessment as a tool to identify potential terrorists threats to public spaces;
- highlight innovative novel technologies for protecting public spaces against terrorists attacks;
- underline lessons learnt/best practices from CPTED.
