This online course is part of CEPOL's 1st  Blended Training Programme on Trafficking in human beings for the purpose of sexual exploitation in the digital age.

The blended training package is aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills on the detection and the investigation of cases of sexual exploitation committed by Organised Crime Groups (OCGs) using the Internet as well as on the identification and the protection of the victims.  It is made up of 3 training activities that are built on each other, in a step-by-step approach. This is a multi-step activity; therefore, the participation of the nominated person in all steps and activities of this programme is required.

The training activity includes the following 3 components:

Step 1 - Webinar 3039/2023 'The use of Social Media in human trafficking investigations' to be held on 28 of March 2023

Step 2 - Online training activity 2010/2023 'Trafficking in human beings - Investigation of the digital business model of trafficking in human beings' to be organised and facilitated virtually on LEEd, CEPOL LMS, between 11-28 April 2023

Step 3 - Onsite training activity 7/2023 'Trafficking in human beings – sexual exploitation' to be organised onsite at CEPOL HQ, Budapest, Hungary between 6-9 June 2023

The participants of this comprehensive training package are invited and expected to attend all 3 training activities, in consecutives steps. In order to attend the onsite course it is a requirement and a pre-condition to successfully attend the online course and the webinar (or its recorded version).

The online course will be held entirely in English, therefore it is essential that participants possess appropriate language skills, minimum level B2. The entire activity is carried out online.

Participants are expected to study around 2 hours per day during the online course (11-28 April 2023) in order to be able to complete the activity.  While learners can progress at their own pace, they will need to be available continuously for completing the course tasks and take the final quiz in order to be able, at the end, to obtain the course certificate. Any scheduled live events where attendance is required in real-time will be announced in the in the confirmation letter and also in the course environment. The course will include both pre-course and post-course activities.
