CEPOL delivers joint training with EUROPOL on advanced operational intelligence analysis

CEPOL, the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training, in cooperation with the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (EUROPOL), organised the onsite course “Operational Intelligence Analysis – Advanced” from 27 to 31 October 2025. Hosted at Europol’s premises, the training activity focused on developing advanced skills in operational intelligence analysis for tackling cross-border organised crime.
The course brought together 25 law enforcement professionals from 20 EU countries (Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden), as well as participants from Moldova and Ukraine. Seven Europol experts and one CEPOL activity manager led the sessions, guiding participants through practical exercises based on pseudonymised real-life cases.
The onsite course formed the second phase of a month-long blended learning programme. Participants had previously completed a three-week online module via CEPOL’s Law Enforcement Education Platform (LEEd), before coming together for the intensive in-person component.
This initiative is part of the agencies’ ongoing efforts to strengthen the analytical capabilities within law enforcement agencies across the EU and beyond. The next joint activity, “Train the Trainers in Operational Intelligence Analysis,” is scheduled to take place in December 2025 at CEPOL’s headquarters in Budapest.
