Raise awareness of CEPOL and the training opportunities/tools that it offers to law enforcement personnel and promote a European law enforcement training culture (for Greek native speakers).
In this webinar, the experts will:
- Underline CEPOL’s role in the field of law enforcement cooperation through learning.

The aim of the webinar is to introduce the Unified Register of the Baltic Forensic Science Experts developed by the State Forensic Science Bureau of Latvia in co-operation with Estonian and Lithuanian forensic science institutions within the framework of the project “Find a Forensic Expert” (JUST/2014/JACC/AG/E-JU/6963) co-funded by the European Union Justice Programme.
Share experience regarding the use of the forensic expert register as a tool:
- to find forensic experts in criminal, administrative and civil proceedings, including cross-border cases;
- to ascertain competence and qualification of forensic experts and their rights to perform forensic examinations;
- to find contacts of forensic experts in another country.

To explain how criminologists use different theories to study the development of criminal careers. Traffic psychologists focus on similar approaches. The faculty Traffic Science & Traffic Psychology has been studying the intersections with a Master-Thesis and the research-project LAWIDA, a longitudinal analysis regarding risk-taking aptitudes of juvenile in the age of 14 to 18.
Attendants are informed about the findings of the Master-Thesis and the research project LAWIDA and gain some ideas of prevention focussing both aspects - traffic safety and crime control.

Online Course 05/2019: Trafficking in Human Beings as a Cyber-enabled Crime 25 March 2019 to 12 April 2019 The entire activity will be carried out online therefore physical presence of participants will not be required. No special computer skill is required for the attendants. Trainers will facilitate the course, give instructions and provide feedback online.
The overall objective of the training is to develop professional skills to detect and investigate THB while using online investigation methods and techniques and enhance cooperation with cyber-crime experts.
The course will cover the following four sections across three weeks:
- EU Legal Framework and Cooperation
- Criminal Activity on the Internet in the area of THB
- Detecting and tracing of criminal activities on the Internet
- Financial crime and investigations in relation to THB
The progress of learners will be monitored and regular feedback will be provided. Those learners who meet the certification criteria will have access to their electronic certificates.
Nomination The online course offers 50 seats altogether. We expect nominations from all the areas of Law Enforcement and Judiciary, representatives of the member states, fellow agencies and the course is also open and free for participants from partner, potential candidates and candidate countries. The overall objective of this online training event is to enhance knowledge on the crime of forest and waste fires and in particular on the relevant emergency response, intelligence and investigative measures that are applied by the Member States` competent authorities.
In the first part of the webinar a Portuguese and an Italian officer will reflect on recent forest fire cases and showcase their national environmental crime protection, emergency response and investigative mechanism. The experts will demonstrate good practices on coordinated multi-agency response, share innovative – structural and technological – solutions but will also discuss difficulties and limitations in the field. In the second part of the webinar Italian investigators will exhibit organised crime groups engagement in waste fires with particular attention on typical crime patterns, and the intelligence collection and investigation methods adopted by Italian specialised agencies. Contributing experts are operational officers involved in daily investigative work and will share their expertise via the presentation of the latest case examples.
The aim of the webinar is to raise awareness on the importance of establishing Focal Points in all EU countries and best practices for the implementation of the Focal Points.
