Online Course 36/2021: First Responders and Cyber-forensics
Date:
31 May 2021 to 11 June 2021
Organiser:
CEPOL
Description:

The overall objective of the training activity is to enhance cyber-forensics work by providing law enforcement officials with practical skills in computer forensics concerning revealing and investigating traces of cybercrimes, by enhancing cooperation and harmonising investigative methods between law enforcement with regard to intervention in a crime scene in case of a cyber-incident and to handling electronic evidence.

The learning strategy is focused to enhance cyber-forensics work by providing law enforcement officials with practical skills in computer forensics. The learning process highlights a learner-centred approach and will consist of:

  • Independent Learning: reviewing case studies, watching webinars and short videos, studying reading material (15 hours)
  • Contact Learning via online forums: forum discussion with other participants, exchange of good practices (10 hours)
  • Experiential Learning: practical exercises that need to be ana-lysed by participants (5 hours)

The course will be delivered online over a period of 2 weeks, between 31 May - 11 June 2021. While there is no specific time slot when participants shall be available for completing the course tasks, they should follow the course continuously. This is important as they will need to exchange their ideas with other participants virtually and complete small tasks/assignments then share the results of these tasks between each other and debate them collectively. Completion of the course would require 3 hours investment / working day from the attending participant during the length of two weeks.

The course will be held entirely in English, therefore it is essential that nominated officials possess appropriate language skills (at least B2 level). The entire activity will be carried out online on CEPOL’s Law Enforcement Education Platform (LEEd), hence the physical presence of participants will not be required.
