The first CEPOL onsite activity this year due to the Covid-19 outbreak took place between 6-9 July in Lisbon. The CEPOL course 20/2021 on Missing Trader Intra Community (MTIC) Fraud was organised by the School of Guard, together with the Portuguese Guarda Nacional Republicana Fiscal Action Unit.
Thank you to our Portuguese colleagues for sharing with us their experience !
The course aimed to improve information exchange and cooperation between EU Member States and EU law enforcement agencies and to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and tools to identify, detect and combat MTIC Fraud, criminal modus operandi and the latest crime patterns, with a view to protecting the EU's financial interests.

29 learners from different Member States and European Institutions, such as Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, France, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden and Portugal participated in this onsite activity.

The course was based on training sessions hosted by renowned national and international speakers and trainers whose professional performance reflects the excellence of the teaching-pedagogical environment at institutions such as Europol, The European Public Prosecutor's Office, Eurojust and Member States, such as France, Italy, Norway and Sweden. The sessions included both theoretical and practical components, while several case studies were presented to share the acquired knowledge and experiences and to contribute to the formalisation of a unified vision of fighting crime in the European Union.
