Combating new forms of organised crime requires more cooperation between police and gendarmes, customs officers, border guards, judges and prosecutors. EU institutions, agencies and Member States work together to tackle organised and serious international crime through a platform called EMPACT (European Multidisciplinary Cooperation Platform Against Criminal Threats).
The EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) plays a crucial role in supporting cooperation between Member States' law enforcement authorities and contributes to identifying and addressing the training needs within each common security threat.
