14th CEPOL Management Board meeting took place in Warsaw

CEPOL MB Meeting May 2025

The 14th meeting of CEPOL’s Management Board (MB) took place on 26-27 May in WarsawArrow icon, within the scope of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European UnionArrow icon.

On the Agenda of the MB meeting, chaired by Mr. Costas Veis, among other topics, were CEPOL’s Granted Activities for 2026; the latest developments in the agency’s Law Enforcement Education Platform, LEEd; a discussion on the value of micro-credentials as part of CEPOL’s training portfolio; key updates regarding the agency’s International Cooperation projects, the Consolidated Annual Activity Report (CAAR) 2024 and the Single Programming Document (SPD) 2025-2027. Also on the agenda was a discussion on the concept of CEPOL’s Certified Trainers Programme, where participants expressed their views on the best way forward regarding its implementation and how to address potential challenges.

The first day of the meeting included a strategic orientation debate on the harmonisation of EU efforts for fostering a common EU law enforcement culture. The topic was first discussed in two groups, moderated by Cyprus and Poland respectively, with the support of CEPOL. Their conclusions were then presented in the MB plenary session, followed by a productive discussion on both short and more long-term actions.  

Furthermore, the MB adopted two important sub-strategies, on Anti-Fraud and Communications. The next CEPOL Management Board meeting is planned to take place in November 2025 in Budapest, during the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The CEPOL Management BoardArrow icon is made up of representatives from EU Member States and the EU Commission. The Chair of the Management Board is a representative of one of the three Member States that have jointly prepared the Council of the European Union’s 18-month programme. The Management Board meets at least twice per year, in order to discuss current and future developments and assess the overall performance of the Agency. The Management Board meeting is an official event of the rotating EU Presidency.
