From 12 to 13 October, the EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) will host the 14th CEPOL National Units (CNU) network meeting at its headquarters in Budapest. The two-day meeting, chaired by the Head of the Spanish CEPOL National Unit (CNU), Mr Antonio Jesús Casado Ortega, will provide an opportunity for CEPOL to inform participants on the latest developments regarding the agency’s activities and achievements.
The agenda of the meeting includes an update on the implementation of training activities in the main priority areas, in line with the EU Strategic Training Needs Assessment 2022-2025 findings, i.e. serious and organised crime, counter-terrorism; law enforcement cooperation, information exchange and interoperability. Furthermore, CEPOL National Units learn about the agency’s response to emerging training needs, the latest upgrades of CEPOL’s Law Enforcement Education platform, LEEd; and the implementation of CEPOL’s capacity-building projects in third countries, including the international cooperation mentoring programme.
During the meeting, CEPOL National Units will take part in a workshop dedicated to the European Multidisciplinary Platform Against Criminal Threats (EMPACT). They will have the opportunity to share experiences regarding their national practices to support EMPACT training activities and discuss the coordination of the EMPACT common horizontal strategic goal 6 ‘Capacity building through training, networking and innovation’, for which CEPOL is responsible.
