Mock trial activity enhances judicial cooperation in terrorism cases in the MENA region

Due to the transnational nature of terrorism, effective judicial cross-border cooperation is crucial to prevent terrorist acts, bring the perpetrators and financiers of terrorism to justice, and tackle the root causes of this phenomenon.
Therefore, CT INFLOW organised a five-day regional activity from 19 until 23 June in Greece, focusing on the promotion of judicial cooperation in terrorism cases in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In total, 19 representatives from Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia joined the event to share experience, good practices and expertise.
The activity provided updated insights on the current trends in terrorism, challenges in investigating and adjudicating terrorism offences, financial investigations and possibilities of enhancing international cooperation. It also enabled creation of professional networks with the main aim to cooperate even better in the future.
