Joint CEPOL and CPCC activity: Law Enforcement Officials on Civilian CSDP Operational Planning

For the very first time CEPOL, in cooperation with the Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability (CPCC), implemented the joint onsite course 103/2022/ONS: CPCC planners – Civilian CSDP Operational planning. The course took place at the CEPOL Headquarters in Budapest, Hungary from 17-21 October 2022. The training aimed to prepare future planners of EU civilian crisis management missions. It focused on the complexities of the planning task, describing analytical, planning, decision-making structures and procedures in CSDP Missions.
26 participants from 17 Member States, Europol and the European External Action Service (EEAS) benefitted from this highly interactive workshop-style event. Attendants worked on a fictitious mission scenario, facing the challenges of the design of an EU civilian mission and developed their own solutions to deal with arising problems.
The experts highlighted the important role of CEPOL’s Law Enforcement Education Platform (LEEd) and of the organisers in preparing and implementing this demanding CEPOL training activity.
