OSINT advanced practitioners trained as trainers in a CEPOL activity in Athens

Law enforcement officials from across Europe recently gathered in Athens for a cutting-edge training course on developing open-source intelligence future trainers. This CEPOL onsite training activity 32/2024/ONS titled “OSINT and IT solutions: Train-the-Trainer” was organised by the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA), a Framework Partner of CEPOL since 2016. The onsite part of the activity took place in KEMEA’s premises in Athens from 15-19 April 2024.
The "OSINT and IT solutions: Train-the-Trainers" is a certified training program with ISO 29993:2017 accreditation that maintains high-quality standards in providing non-formal educational activities. It is a compact Train-the-Trainer CEPOL course designed to train subject matter experts in the field of OSINT. The course successfully provided 29 law enforcement officials and experts from various Member States, Norway, and Europol with the skills to design and deliver OSINT-related training content with a learner-centred approach.
The training activity included modern delivery methods, tools, and blended learning techniques. Participants learned to deconstruct learning outcomes, apply learning strategies, manage training challenges, facilitate group discussions, and give and receive feedback. Moreover, participants learned to competently assess whether the learners have reached the specified learning outcomes after completing a training activity or session in the field of OSINT. This assessment is in line with the overall CEPOL quality training standards.
In addition, the future trainers examined and exchanged good practices in open-source intelligence techniques and tools and applied some in practical exercises. This training activity is an excellent opportunity for law enforcement officers and experts to enhance their skills in the field of OSINT and apply them in real-life situations.
