CEPOL launches series of webinars on the impact of Ukraine conflict on law enforcement

Starting this week, CEPOL will be hosting a series of webinars to help brace for the impact of the Ukrainian conflict on the work of EU law enforcement officials.

Those in positions in security and border management or connected to the management of refugee flows will have the opportunity this Friday 11 March to join the webinar on Ukrainian refugee crisis. Experts from the Romanian and Polish Border Police, the International Organisation for Migration and the EU Agency for Asylum will contribute to raise awareness on the challenges and risks generated by the current refugee crisis in the context of this conflict and share good practices in relation to border guard management.

More webinars are being prepared to address the crisis situation and keep the law enforcement officials up to date.

On 24 February, the Russian armed forces launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine. As a result of this unprovoked and unjustified aggression, substantial areas of the Ukrainian territory now constitute areas of war from which many persons are fleeing. On 7 March, CEPOL issued a joint statement on behalf of the Justice and Home Affairs EU Agencies supporting the work of EU institutions and Member States as they help Ukraine and its people. As a first step, and engaging within the scope of its mandate, CEPOL adds this series of ad hoc webinars to its learning and training portfolio.
