Activity16/2025/ONS: Illicit Drug Laboratory Dismantling – advanced
The aim of this onsite activity is to train participants on how to dismantle illicit drug, precursor and tableting laboratories, storage places, waste dump sites and drug/chemicals/precursor/waste transports in safe and secure way, as well as how to conduct crime scene investigation of these sites.

Combating new forms of organised crime requires more cooperation between police and gendarmes, customs officers, border guards, judges, and prosecutors. EU institutions, agencies and Member States work together to tackle organised and serious international crime through a permanent and key instrument: the European Multidisciplinary Platform Against Criminal Threats (EMPACT).
CEPOL plays a crucial role in the EMPACT mechanism through the provision of specialised training and the identification of training needs within each common security threat. Every year, CEPOL provides a comprehensive training package for each common EU crime priority consisting of onsite, online and exchange training activities.

Target audience
Law enforcement officers, particularly police and customs officials, as well as forensic experts and judicial authorities directly involved in investigation on illicit drug production, conversion of precursors and dismantling of illicit drug production laboratories, storage places, waste dump site and transports, predominantly, but not limited to synthetic drug facilities. Note that dismantling of cannabis cultivation sites is out of scope for this course.
