Activity19/2025/ONS: National Firearms Focal Points
The aim of this onsite activity is to strengthen the capacities of the National Firearms Focal Points (NFFPs) of the EU countries, the Western Balkans, MENA Countries, Ukraine and Moldova by contributing to the capacity building of their staff to carry out their multiple tasks.

Combating new forms of organised crime requires more cooperation between police and gendarmes, customs officers, border guards, judges, and prosecutors. EU institutions, agencies and Member States work together to tackle organised and serious international crime through a permanent and key instrument: the European Multidisciplinary Platform Against Criminal Threats (EMPACT).
CEPOL plays a crucial role in the EMPACT mechanism through the provision of specialised training and the identification of training needs within each common security threat. Every year, CEPOL provides a comprehensive training package for each common EU crime priority consisting of onsite, online and exchange training activities.

Target audience
Law enforcement officials who are starting or will start or have recently started working as staff members or managers (Heads) or contact persons of National Firearms Focal Points (NFFPs) in their respective countries and who wish to acquire knowledge and develop skills exclusively in the function of NFFPs, with a focus on preventing and combatting transnational serious organised firearms trafficking.
Level: Awareness, law enforcement officers with less than 2 years of working experience in NFFPs.
