Activity28/2026/ONS: Artificial Intelligence - Advanced prompting
The aim of this onsite activity is to equip law enforcement specialists with advanced prompt engineering skills that enable them to effectively integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools into everyday investigative work. Emphasis is placed on solid understanding of core prompting principles and techniques, empowering participants to identify relevant use-cases and apply AI solutions appropriately. This universal skillset fosters independent problem-solving diverse scenarios, following the philosophy of “teaching how to fish” – enabling participants to generate their own AI-driven solutions rather than relying on pre-made answers.

Law enforcement officers engaged in general investigative roles, who demonstrate a strong motivation to enhance their competencies in interacting with AI tools. These individuals should possess a foundational understanding of investigative workflows, basics of prompting AI-driven tools and exhibit a proactive interest in integrating innovative technologies into their daily operations. The key criterion for participation is the potential to act as knowledge multipliers within their national or organisational structures. Participants are expected to disseminate the acquired skills and insights through internal training, mentoring, or operational implementation, thereby contributing to the broader institutional adaption of AI-supported investigative practices.
