3038/2026/WEB 'Gamified extremism: monitoring and disrupting radicalisation pathways in gaming communities'

The aim of this webinar is to educate law enforcement professionals about the growing nexus between online gaming platforms and extremist activity, focusing on recognising radicalisation tactics, mitigating risks, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure safe virtual spaces.
By the end of this webinar, the audience will be able to:
- Recognise current and emerging trends in the exploitation of online gaming environments by violent extremists and terrorists for recruitment, radicalisation, and propaganda
- Explain the role of the Europol Internet Referral Unit Online Gaming Network, including Referral Action Days and operational cooperation, in detecting and disrupting extremist activity within gaming ecosystems
- Identify effective trust and safety measures implemented by online gaming platforms to prevent, detect, and flag potential radicalisation pathways, particularly among children and young people
- Analyse good practices in public-private cooperation between law enforcement authorities and online service providers to counter the misuse of gaming platforms by violent extremists
- Apply lessons learnt from the Danish Online Police Patrol model to strengthen national prevention, early detection, and community engagement strategies within online gaming environments
