The aim of this webinar is to raise awareness on freedom of assembly and freedom of expression in the context of public protests, and specifically on alternatives to the use of force, with a view to guaranteeing public safety and security and fundamental rights.

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

• understand the principles of freedom of assembly and expression in protests;
• identify alternatives to the use of force in managing protests;
• explore best practices for dialogue and mediation in protest situations;
• recognise international human rights standards related to protests.
