86/2019 Terrorism and organised crime nexus

The aim of the course is:

• To familiarise LEA investigators dealing with Terrorism and Organised Crime with the nexus between these two kinds of criminality.
• To inform these LEA investigators on the phenomenon of lone actors and the nexus between common crime and organised crime.
• To give an insight on the “services” that organised criminal groups can provide to terrorist groups and/or lone actors.
• To highlight the fact that there is not always a connection with classic organised crime but also with so called “everyday” relations with common criminality.
• To provide an overview of the opportunities that investigators can explore during a terrorism related investigation where there is a hint/ evidence of interaction with organised crime groups or criminals.
