The aim of this training is to enhance cross-border collaboration among European Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) by sharing best practices, operational insights, and challenges in international police cooperation. The session will highlight experiences from exchanges between Spain, Sweden, and Italy, focusing on:

  • Structures of international cooperation units (e.g., SPOC, ENU, Interpol, Sirene);
  • Planning organisation, what to focus on, visit to other units;
  • Importance of interpersonal relationships in a connected world;
  • The role of personal networks in facilitating smoother cooperation;
  • Challenges.

By the end of this Exchange-bite, the audience will be able to:

  • Identify key structures and actors in international police cooperation (e.g., Spanish DCI, Swedish National Police);
  • Identify best practices;
  • Assess the importance of professional networking in cross-border cases;
  • Apply lessons learned from the exchanges to improve collaboration within their own agencies;
  • Outline how to leverage operational tools in joint investigations.
