E018/2025/EXB International cooperation, information exchange and interoperability - SIS/SIRENE, Europol, Interpol - in cross-border EMPACT crimes

The aim of this exchange-bite is to:
- Share experiences between a member of the Spanish National Police, serving in the SIRENE Office, and a member of the National Republican Guard, also serving in the SIRENE Office;
- Share experiences of the bilateral exchange between PUC-CPI and SIRENE Portugal and the Bulgarian International Operational Cooperation Directorate (IOCD);
- Highlight best practices in SIS/SIRENE workflows, real-time information exchange, emerging crime trends, digital tools and databases used in daily operations, and practical recommendations for improving interoperability across EU law enforcement.
- Share information, experiences, and best practices between SIRENE Offices in Schengen cooperation;
- Discuss different aspects of international police cooperation (Europol, Interpol) and interoperability.
By the end of this exchange-bite, the audience will be able to:
- Understand organisational structures, workflows, and responsibilities related to law enforcement in Portugal, Spain, and Bulgaria;
- Identify effective practices for rapid information exchange (SIRENE, Interpol, Europol);
- Identify current trends in human trafficking, migrant smuggling, and stolen vehicles;
- Evaluate integration of analytical tools, digital systems, and databases in operational work;
- Evaluate procedures at external borders (maritime and air);
- Present recommendations for improving automation, interoperability, and remote work capabilities.
